A representative from the Diocese of Brooklyn will be announcing the Dean for Deanery Q2. Our first Dean, the Very Rev. Brian P. Dowd VF, will be stepping down as he was assigned to be the Pastor of St. Patrick's in Bay Ridge, NY. The Very Rev Dowd explained to us the role of the Dean, as prescribed by Canon Law, and desired by the Bishop Robert J. Brennon, our new Bishop for the Diocese of Brooklyn.
The Canonical Duties of the Dean would be...
1. To promote and coordinate common pastoral activities in the deanery.
2. That the Clerics of his district lead a life that is in harmony to their state of life, and diligently perform all of their duties
3. To see to it that religious functions are celebrated in accord with the precept of the Sacred Liturgy. that good appearance and conditions of the Churches, and Sacred Furnishings, are carefully maintained, especially in the celebration of the Eucharist, and the custody of the Blessed Sacrament. That the Parish Books are correctly inscribed and dully cared for. That ecclesiastical goods are carefully administered and finally that the rectory is maintained in proper care.

Queen of Angels has received word that Rev. Ambiorix D. Osorio, Parochial Vicar at St. Sebastian Church in Woodside, will become the Pastor at Queen of Angels Church in Sunnyside. There will be more to come later in the Month. Rev. Osorio will begin in July of 2022.
